Chicago 2016 Olympics Live Site Info < 1/4 >

Chicago Illinois This proposal for the Live Site for Chicago’s 2016 Olympic bid is situated in Grant Park on Chicago’s lakefront. Intended to be the main gathering area for Chicago’s residents and visitors during the Olympics, the design features pavilions representing each of the participating countries which include a two-way webcam where residents and Olympic visitors can communicate with people situated at locations within the home countries. The pavilions are scattered throughout the park and are illuminated at night; searchlights mounted on top of each pavilion would create an array of light that could be seen from throughout the city. Pavilion interiors would contain cultural content as determined individually by the participating countries.
