Sam serves as a design team member at JRA working on projects ranging from single family residences to cultural buildings to large-scale commercial buildings. His experience prior to coming to JRA includes multiple mixed-use high rise buildings. Sam is highly skilled in design visualization and possesses an innate ability to think up ways of doing things better and faster. His professional interests include the design of urban contemplative spaces and the investigation of parametric design tools. Sam received a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies with Highest Honors from the University of Illinois, where he was awarded the Steve S. Kang Young Artist Scholarship based on portfolio merit. Born in the city of Chicago, Sam grew up on the city's west side and later moved to the northwest suburbs. In his free time he enjoys playing piano pieces by Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninoff, and on occasion will lower himself to play lounge music. He is also an enthusiast of competitive table tennis.
