This renovation project of a former industrial property into faculty research and exhibition space restores the existing building shell and inserts legible and discrete new elements—mezzanine, elevator, restrooms, bar—clad in hot-rolled steel to complement the building’s industrial character and to organize its interior space into teaching, exhibition, research and making zones.
